Young Adult Romantic Comedy

A young adult romantic comedy novel about falling in love both on and off stage at theater camp, best described as the High School Musical meets To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han set in a summer camp like Camp Rock.
Theater geek, Olivia Hunter is devastated after discovering her boyfriend, Jake Donnelly, and her best friend, Jenna Carson have been hooking up behind her back. Humiliated and heartbroken over their betrayal, she heads to her childhood theater camp, Camp Perfect Harmony, as a camp counselor. Liv expects a drama-free summer and hopes to forget about the pain of the brutal betrayal. But drama always tends to follow theater kids, and Liv’s summer immediately starts off as drama central when she comes to face to face with her old camp crush, Charlie Walker. Things only get messier when Jake shows up to camp unexpectedly with Jenna.
Then the traitorous duo incorrectly assumes Liv and Charlie are dating, Liv doesn’t set the record straight in hopes that Jake gets blinded by jealousy and she can win him back. Charlie seems weirdly okay with letting everyone think they’re the perfect theater couple. Their charade only gets more complicated when the cast list is posted and Liv and Charlie find out they were cast as the understudies to Jake and Jenna.
Liv may have chosen Jake over Charlie in the past, but now she finds herself falling for Charlie all over again while fake dating him. When a twist of fate leaves Jake and Jenna unable to play the lead roles, the understudies must take the stage, and Liv is forced to decide between opening her heart up to an encore performance of her relationship with Jake or finally acting on her undeniable feelings for Charlie.
