A young adult romantic comedy novel best described as She’s All That meets The Best Laid Plans by Cameron Lund and Netflix’s Sex Education.

Socially awkward, Ellie Hart, and popular golden boy, Brooks Kingston, have been best friends since they were wide-eyed toddlers. When they start college, Ellie suddenly finds herself navigating the upside down world of dating and doesn’t know where to begin. Brooks proposes a simple bet to see who can get a date to sorority or fraternity formal first. The catch is, as a part of the bet, Ellie has to join a sorority, despite being far from the perky and confident sorority girl type. When the sorority president takes Ellie under her wing, she undergoes a complete makeover, turning her from awkward geek to pretty Greek.

Joining Greek life isn’t only about parties and boys though, Ellie has to come up with a community service project. So, with the help of her sorority sisters, she launches Undateable, a college dating advice app. The only thing missing from the advice is a guy’s perspective, so Ellie recruits Brooks. While giving dating advice together, the lines of their friendship blur between platonic and romantic and there’s no dating advice in the world to help Ellie navigate the unexpected shift. Doubting her dating advice skills because of her own messy love life, Ellie considers shutting the popular app down for making her life more complicated. When Ellie can’t figure out if Brooks loves the real her or the new sorority girl version of her, she’s forced to decide if her popularity is worth the extra heartache and if she should risk changing the trajectory of her friendship with Brooks forever for the possibility of love.
